Dear Readers,
What a month! April was all about adjusting to these extraordinary times. Many of us entered a waiting period, wondering when our lives might return to normal and trying desperately to keep our spirits up and our wits about us in the meantime.
I have come to realize that waiting isn’t working.
The world will not go back to the way it was in some collective semblance anytime soon. Each one of us is putting one foot in front of the other at a different pace, depending on our circumstances. Each one of us has unique priorities and varying challenges.
If you feel like you’ve been in a holding pattern, the best thing you can do – and should do – is start writing a new chapter for yourself. Don’t wait for things to go back to the way they were; define how things will be in this moment and those that follow. Make the most of what you have and twist and turn to find new ways to live fully.
In this spirit, I’ll be returning to the “classic” format of QuickRead this month, with a mindful intention of bringing you content that is relevant for a year that has made plans and goals disappear and is redefining concepts like productivity and balance.
As always, your feedback and ideas are welcome!
Be well and be patient with yourself. After all, writing a new chapter takes time, energy and lots of deep breaths.
