Dear Readers,
It’s a time like none other. Most, if not all, of us wake up not sure what the day might hold and how to untangle everything going on inside and out.
As a person with a disability and chronic health issues, this isn’t quite as foreign to me as it may be for those who live healthy, full lives complete with a full calendar. I’ve learned that sometimes things don’t go as planned, some days are more productive than others and you have to take it day by day, sometimes even hour by hour. Frustrating? Yes. Depressing? Not necessarily, but more about that another time.
For today, I’ll leave you with this thought: Adjust your expectations for yourself during this uncertain time. You don’t need to operate at 150%, or even 100%; 75% is just fine and even 50% is totally okay.
Adjusting expectations isn’t the same as lowering expectations. It is rising to the occasion, being resilient and staying true to yourself and others.
In the spirit of adjustment, this month I am giving myself permission to veer off the usual course of QuickRead. I’ll stick with the weekly cadence, but am setting aside “the formula” and typical topics so I can provide content based on my observations of the collective and instincts about what people need the most. Your suggestions, requests and feedback are always welcome.
Adjust as needed and be well!
Sending you good vibes,
Kamna
