Even when you’re a coach – actually, especially when you’re a coach — growth never stops and learning is always a new start to new ideas, insights and inspiration.
It’s with this desire for continued growth that I enrolled in a one-year Professional Coaches Course this past July, offered through New Ventures West.
But wait, I thought she was already a coach…
That’s right. I’ve been a practicing coach for over 12 years and made a very intentional choice to forego certification because I didn’t want to get locked into a single methodology.
I wanted to carve my own niche and coach people in a way that always met clients where they were and honored their journey. I wanted to coach in a way that felt authentic. For me, coaching is a means through which I can be of service to the world, a I’ve always trusted that the business aspect of it would follow.
All this hasn’t changed. If anything, it’s stronger.
I felt pulled toward the Integral Coaching approach taught by New Ventures West because it felt like it was an elevated version of what I was already doing. Something bigger than me – that inner voice we so often tune out — gently but firmly whispered that it was time and that this was an investment in myself and a catalyst to making an even greater impact in people’s lives.
So now what?
Part of our program involves directly working with “practice clients” and using the Integral Coaching approach we are being trained in.
I invite you or someone you know to join me on this journey (see more details below). If our personal or professional relationship isn’t conducive to an optimal coaching engagement, I will gladly refer you to one of the 19 heart-centered and dedicated peers in my cohort who are located around the country and even in Canada and Malaysia!
What’s Involved
Time Commitment
We will meet 10 times (60 to 75-minute sessions) over the course of 3-6 months. Between sessions, you’ll be engaging in some practices, observations, exercises or reading intended to help you make discoveries and shifts.
Open Spots
I am offering six spots – two starting in November, two starting in January and 2 in February/March. Spots will be filled on a first come first served basis.
When and How We Will Meet
Sessions can be held via phone or Zoom. Because of the nature of these sessions (a bit different than my regular coaching sessions), I will offer these Monday evenings, Friday afternoons and Sundays.
Cost
Since this is a part of my training, I am offering a discounted fee in the form of a package. Payment terms can be arranged individually. Overall, this will amount to about $400 in savings.
If you cannot afford coaching right now, some of my peers are offering coaching at no fee and I am happy to refer you accordingly.
What is Integral Coaching and Who is an Ideal Candidate?
Integral Coaching is a method that attends to a client’s whole life, helping them not just to achieve goals but to develop competencies. For example, a client may come to coaching because of a challenge in one area of life (e.g., work). The coach looks for what might be underlying that particular challenge and where else it is showing up in life. The coach works with the client not only to understand the deeper issue, but to develop greater skill to meet challenges in all domains. Ultimately, a coaching relationship that began about work may result in improvements in relationships, health, and other areas.
Common topics for which people seek coaching are work issues, health or relationship challenges, wanting to stop or start a habit, or transitions of any kind.
