It’s that time of year when all the possibilities of a new year point to success, satisfaction and self improvement.
I’m a fan of making resolutions, be that for the New Year, on a birthday or even to mark the change of season. But I’m also the first to give myself and others a free pass for not fulfilling resolutions.
A resolution made in honor of a particular day is energetically tied to that day rather than our inner clock and compass. A resolution made in honor of pure desire for a life change is stronger, more sincere and most likely to succeed.
Articulating an intention to make a life change is powerful. Following that intention with action is transformative.
The marriage of intention and action can happen at any time, not just when the ball drops and the calendar flips.
As a new year commences, perhaps the best resolution we can make is to keep an open mind and heart for when we feel the need to make a change. There’s no need to wait until the next January 1; after all, every day is new opportunity to do better, be better and live better.
