So many people are in search of a little inspiration. Whether it’s because life has lost its luster or due to a rut in the road, we seek any semblance of an oasis of inspiration to quench our thirst to live fully and happily.
But inspiration doesn’t come in spurts, as many believe. One does not necessarily need to venture into a new city or adopt a new hobby. Inspiration is all around us; it can come from some of life’s more routine areas. We can find inspiration hidden in observing a child at play, a conversation with a co-worker, a movie, the latest best-seller, or a human interest story in the news.
Yet, too many times we are so caught up in planning or waiting for inspiration that we miss out on what’s right in front of us. Here are three ways to increase your chances of finding inspiration in everyday moments:
Be present.
Don’t fantasize about your winter getaway to Mexico while walking around your own town in the summer. Take in each moment and let it fill you up.
Be aware.
Your body is the best measure of contentment. Pay attention to when every muscle is relaxed or when your heart slightly skips a beat. Hone in on whatever caused this physical shift that results in lifting your soul.
Be grateful.
When you are grateful to and for those things that inspire you, the universe blesses you with even more. Write about what inspires you each day, or share your story with a loved one. The universe will listen and continue to shower you with inspiration.
